Day #12 – A Trail Run at Twin Brooks
Good run this evening, although my pace varied widely.
I didn’t get out of work quite as early as I wanted to, and my wife was running a little late as well, so we got there after the sun had set and didn’t really get any good photographs like we had wanted to.
We gave up on that pretty quickly, though, and decided to run out of the park to the snowmobile trails until it was time to meet up with Sara and Christine, a couple of the Trail Monsters that like to start the run a little early.
We covered 5 total when we met up with them, and then went back to the snowmobile trails for another 2½ miles. At that point, I saw the Trail Monsters that started at the normal time, and it was pretty obvious how to get back to the cars, so I abandoned the ladies to run with Jim, Erik, Shauna and Erik’s vizla, Django.
At the end of the normal run I was a bit over a mile short, so Erik, Jim and Django ran another mile and a half with me to help get to the 12 miles I needed for the day.
It was a pretty pleasant run, other than that the wind was bitingly cold in the fields. It was plenty warm under the trees, though.
Please excuse the alternate phases of a wobbly camera, the lights no longer pointing at me, and me not looking at the camera during today’s video update. Django wasn’t done running, I don’t think, because he managed to jump into all 3 of our crotches while we were trying to record the update in an effort to convince us to keep running.
Maybe he was just cold…
Thanks to Emilio Millan who donated today! I appreciate the help!
