Day #14 – Coaching at Maine Running Company
It was cold for this morning’s 8 miles but I managed to dress appropriately and was relatively comfortable. I’m glad I waited until 15 minutes before the sun came up to start running, though, so I could use my sunglasses…even with them my eyes were freezing a bit in the fields when I’d get the wind in my face.
Before this evening’s run I only had 2 pairs of shoes to put screws into, one of which was mine. I now have fresh screws in one of my new pairs of trail shoes which will hopefully give me an opportunity to get the old screws out of my old trail shoes, since those screws have already been worn right through.
The last 6 miles today were run with the group I coach at Maine Running Company, doing 4 hill repeats. I still had 2/3 of a mile when I was done making sure everybody had gotten back, so I did that quickly before heading home.
It was a beautiful night tonight.
Today there was a donation by James Toulouse, who said, “Blaine, excellent cause and a unique way to re-establish that solid running base, and quickly! Good luck. Jim.” He also sent along a matching gifts form from Unum, which doubles his donation!
