Day #05 – A Return to the Trails

This morning was a bit overcast but a balmy 28°F when I started running just after the sun came up. I brought my camera in the hopes that I’d catch a good sunrise photo but no such luck.

The snowmobiles had been out on the trails following this past weekends storm so the snow was pretty packed down once I got past the 2 feet of powder I needed to get through to access the trails. They weren’t very icy yet, though, since we have had relatively warm temperatures right around the freezing point so while the footing was decent I expect it to improve over the next week or so.

The trails were well worth running in and quite beautiful under all the snow. It was also very quite and relaxing despite being able to hear traffic on the sections near the road and 1 snowmobile off in the distance on a parallel trail.
